Africa Outreach is a yearly evangelistic summer mission to Malawi led by Pastor Kurt Dahlin. We partner with the vision of the National Foursquare Leadership to strengthen, encourage and grow the rural churches. Visiting sites where fresh water wells have recently been drilled, we utilize creative arts and the Jesus film to make the love of Jesus known to as many as possible. Our teams are able to minister in several villages, reaching thousands of people each year. We will minister the gospel in rural villages and host First Aid and Homemade Hygiene clinics featuring the use of local resources to prevent deadly diarrhea.

WHO WE ARE
Africa Outreach is a yearly evangelistic summer mission to Malawi, led by Pastor Kurt Dahlin. We partner with the vision of the national Foursquare leadership to strengthen, encourage and grow the rural churches. Visiting sites where fresh water wells have recently been drilled, we utilize creative arts and the Jesus film to make the love of Jesus known to as many as possible. Over the past ten years we have been able to bring the gospel to 150,000 people.
OUR HISTORY
In 1991, Pastor Kurt Dahlin began to lead annual outreach teams to the Republic of South Africa. In 1994, Dahlin went to Malawi, Africa and discovered a great love for the people and culture. By 1996 Pastor Kurt began training and sending short-term teams to serve alongside Pastor Bob Brack (the Foursquare missionary in Malawi at the time). During this time Pastor Kurt also developed the Water Wells For Africa project and local partnerships that have become the stand alone, public benefit nonprofit, WWFA organization (www.waterwellsforafrica.org), that is devoted to providing clean water for the first time in remote areas of Malawi.
Today, the Breakwater church still partners directly with the Malawian National Foursquare Church in Blantyre. Teams from the Breakwater, along with surrounding South Bay churches and Christian colleges and universities continue to minister in rural Malawian villages every summer.
The congregants of the Blantyre Foursquare Church have become crucial ministry partners and great friends. Pastor Kurt has re-named the teams’ fearless interpreters, “The Lions of Blantyre” for their ceaseless passion in prayer, preaching, and pursuit of the lost. Together with the “Lions” and local pastors, Breakwater’s Africa Outreach Teams share the Jesus film, conduct church services and provide much needed hygiene/sanitation education and first aid training. Ultimately, all of these efforts center on showing the true, life-giving, love of Christ and encouraging the rural church of Malawi, Central Africa.
